The 2014 FLOW-3D Americas Users Conference will be held September 9-10, 2014 in Toronto, ON at the Courtyard Marriott Downtown Toronto. Advanced training for the water & environmental industry will be held Monday, September 8 at the conference hotel. All FLOW-3D, FLOW-3D/MP, and FLOW-3D Cast users—and anyone interested in the FLOW-3D product suite—are invited to attend the conference.
The conference will commence with an opening reception, the evening of Monday, September 8. Flow Science would like to invite all conference attendees and their guests for a welcome aperitif and appetizers at the Courtyard Marriott Downtown Toronto. The reception will begin at 6:00 pm.
We are pleased to announce this year’s speakers; their topics and breadth of experience using FLOW-3D promise an exciting and informative conference. FLOW-3D users, from both the commercial sector and research arena, will present and discuss their work, including topics such as modeling bioreactors, simulating erosion control, predicting dam break failure and solving manufacturing issues using CFD software. Speakers from GM Corp, Ontario Power Generation, Tetra Tech, W.F. Baird & Associates, KODACO and a variety of leading research institutions are part of a diverse lineup of presenters. Online registration for the conference is now available. Conference registration will be waived for one presenter per presentation. The registration fee of 150 USD includes the two-day conference, opening reception and conference dinner as well as morning and afternoon coffee breaks. Flow Science will offer a 1/2 day session of advanced FLOW-3D training for the water & environmental industry on Monday, September 8 at the Courtyard Marriott Downtown Toronto. The training will focus on the completely new sediment 3-D and 2-D shallow water scour models in FLOW-3D v11, hybrid 3-D/2-D shallow-water modeling for large domains, efficient model and project workflows for hydraulics problems, and hints and tips for using FlowSight™, FLOW-3D‘s new post-processing and visualization tool. Attendees can sign up for the training when they register online.

The official conference hotel is the Courtyard Marriott Downtown Toronto. We have negotiated a special rate of 179 CAD/night, plus taxes. This rate includes wi-fi internet access and is good 3 days before and after the conference dates based on availability at the hotel. Because the conference will be held during the Toronto International Film Festival, we encourage attendees to make their reservations as early as possible. Presentation formats can be either a PowerPoint file or a file format that can be opened in PowerPoint. Final presentations are due Monday, August 25. Each presenter will have a 30 minute speaking slot — 20 minutes for presenting and 10 minutes for Q & A. Please contact us if you have any questions about presenting at the conference.
