FLOW-3D Product Training: Elevate Your CFD Skills

If you’re new to CFD software, just getting started in a new role, or looking to explore recent updates and workflows, this in-person training is a practical way to build your skills with FLOW-3D products. It’s also a good fit for anyone who wants to catch up with the latest developments in the software.

The trainings are held at the Flow Science office in Chapel Hill, NC and conducted in small class sizes to allow for personalized instruction and questions. Registration includes lunch and a certificate of completion at the end of the session.

FLOW-3D AM and FLOW-3D WELD Training

This three-day training course offers industry professionals the opportunity to gain hands-on experience to simulate additive manufacturing and welding processes with FLOW-3D AM and FLOW-3D WELD. Participants will also learn how to extract relevant data with FLOW-3D POST and visualize melt pool formation. Additionally, they will explore how FLOW-3D (x) can automate the study of input parameter sensitivity in real-world additive and welding processes. Our simulation experts will be available to support project-specific questions and discussions.

FLOW-3D HYDRO Training

This three-day training course offers a comprehensive introduction to using FLOW-3D HYDRO. Participants will engage in hands-on exercises, in-depth lectures, and guided discussions designed to equip them with the essential tools to confidently navigate the software. Upon completion, users will have the knowledge and skills to efficiently set up complex simulation projects, visualize and extract meaningful results with FLOW-3D POST, and apply best practices to common modeling challenges. This training is designed to enhance modeling proficiency, optimize workflows, and produce accurate, defensible simulation results while progressing from core concepts to advanced techniques.

FLOW-3D CAST Training

This three-day, hands-on training is designed for engineers and professionals in the high pressure die casting industry who want to become proficient in modeling with FLOW-3D CAST. The course provides a comprehensive overview of the HPDC simulation workflow, covering every stage from plunger filling and thermal die cycling to solidification and defect analysis. Participants will learn how to efficiently set up and run simulations, interpret results using FLOW-3D POST, and apply best practices for optimizing process design. The training combines practical exercises with personalized instruction to help users develop the confidence and skills required to produce accurate, production-grade simulations.

I also very much appreciated some of the technical explanations behind the physics and why you'd make certain modeling decisions. The selection of training activities is also perfect for a class on AM. Some folks might like a lesson on binder jetting (inkjet onto a porous substrate), but the topics you present have greater real-world importance than binder jetting.
