I wanted to extend my appreciation to you for having organized an amazing conference. It was a good chance for me to see how the program is used in applications outside of my field of study and meet some very inspiring people. I also picked up a number of tricks with FLOW-3D that I will surely use in the future. -Jason Duguay, Université de Sherbrooke
We are pleased to announce the presenters for the 2015 FLOW-3D Americas Users Conferences; their topics and breadth of experience using FLOW-3D promise an exciting and informative conference. FLOW-3D users from both the commercial and academic arenas will present and discuss their work, including topics such as modeling hydro power plants, simulating dam breaks and subsequent flooding, and solving manufacturing issues. Speakers from NYPA, ARCADIS-US, Hydro-Quebec, HDR, MetalTek International, USBR, and a variety of leading research institutions are part of a diverse lineup of presenters. In addition to the work presented by our customers, Flow Science representatives will present current and upcoming developments for the software. Flow Science will offer a half-day training the afternoons of September 21 (Denver) and September 24 (Montreal) from 1:00 – 5:00 pm, preceding the Users Conferences. A lunch, provided by Flow Science, will be from 12:00 – 1:00 pm. This training is geared towards beginning and intermediate users of FlowSight and will:
- Get you up to speed with both the basic and advanced features of FLOW-3D’s state-of-the-art postprocessor
- Help you understand the workflows that will help you analyze your results in depth and efficiently
- Demonstrate how to communicate your results with effective and engaging layouts
During the training we will use three application examples (high pressure die casting, water & environmental and microfluidics) to showcase FlowSight’s capabilities and value. We will start with a summary of how the simulations were set up, then describe what we want to learn from the simulations, and finally, demonstrate the specific postprocessing tasks for each application. These include:
- Window layout, templates, and multi-case analysis
- Creating components: isosurfaces, 2D clips, volume rendering, streamlines, calculators and probe and history time series data
- Advanced presentation topics: exporting images, animations and flipbook techniques
Attendees will receive a USB key that contains the prepin, STLs and FlowSight context files for each application so that they can reproduce the demonstrated cases after the conference. Sign up for this complimentary training when you register online.
