13th FLOW-3D European Users Conference
The 13th annual FLOW-3D European Users Conference will be held June 13-14, 2013 in Madrid, Spain at the Hotel Petit Palace Savoy Alfonso XII. Free training on the embedded and customized version of EnSight in FLOW-3D will be held the afternoon of June 12 at the conference hotel. All FLOW-3D users—and anyone interested in becoming a FLOW-3D user—are invited to attend the conference.
The call for abstracts is now open. Share your experiences, present your success stories and obtain valuable feedback from your fellow FLOW-3D users and Flow Science staff. The deadline to submit an abstract is Thursday, March 28, 2013. Notifications of presentation acceptance will be sent out on Friday, April 5, 2013. If you are interested in presenting, please email your abstract to us.

2012 FLOW-3D Users Conference in Korea
The 2012 FLOW-3D Users Conference in Korea was held on October 23rd at the 63 Convention Center, with about 40 users in attendance. John Ditter, Flow Science's Vice President of Software Engineering, and Dr. Michael Barkhudarov, Flow Science's Vice President of Research & Development, gave talks on the new features in FLOW-3D and FLOW-3D/MP, as well as planned future developments. Users presented their work in the areas of casting and hydraulics, with presentations touching on breakwaters (Hyundai Engineering), defect prediction in die casting (Hyundai Motors), welding (KAIST), investment casting (Sungil Industries), optimizing gating design (KODACO), and more.

2012 FLOW-3D Users Conference in Japan
The 2012 FLOW-3D Users Conference in Japan was held on October 26th at the Tokyo International Forum, with nearly 100 users in attendance. The featured presentation was a keynote speech by Dr. Yuichi Kitamura, of Electric Power Development Co. Ltd., on the topic of the Role of Numerical and Physical Experiments in the Evaluation of Hydroelectric Facilities. User presentations included talks on reduction of fluid loss and improvement of oil discharge in aircraft engine drive gear, from Kawasaki Heavy Industries; magnesium die casting, by Mitsui Kinzoku; gravity casting, from KYB Corp.; shape optimization of plunger tip, from Mie University; and development of fluid properties measuring device, from University of Tokyo. Again, Mr. Ditter and Dr. Barkhudarov presented talks on the new and planned developments for FLOW-3D.

5th FLOW-3D Users Conference in Taiwan
The fifth FLOW-3D Users Conference in Taiwan was held on October 31st at the Regent Hotel in Taipei, sponsored by Flow Science's associate in Taiwan, hyperInfo. Approximately 60 FLOW-3D users and prospects were in attendance to hear John Ditter and Michael Barkhudarov present new developments for FLOW-3D. In addition, users from industry and academia presented results in topics ranging from wave energy converters, fish passages and the design of weirs to planar flow casting, die casting and gravity casting.

The 2012 FLOW-3D World Users Conference was held September 13-14, 2012 at the Hyatt at Fisherman's Wharf in San Francisco, CA, preceded by a day of free training. Over 60 attendees from around the world attended the 2 day event, which included a poster session and a conference dinner overlooking the bay.
