FLOW-3D version 10.1 features a redesigned graphical user interface. The new design, which was based on significant customer input, gives users a streamlined approach to setting up, running and analyzing simulations. Solver developments include a new hybrid shallow water/3D flow, easier to use cooling channels with more controls, a spray cooling model with phase change improvements and significant enhancements to the fluid structure interaction/thermal stress evolution and general moving objects models. The results file size has been substantially reduced to help users better handle and store their simulation data.
This webinar will cover in detail these new models and enhancements. It will also show specifics as to the redesign of the user interface.
Cad2Stl v1.2.1 Released

Cad2Stl is a data file conversion tool developed to enable customers to use files types which are common to and can be edited in many CAD packages. Cad2Stl converts the file types, IGES (igs, iges), STEP (stp, step), BREP (brep, BREP), and Autodesk (OBJ and 3DS) to STL format which is the required format for FLOW-3D. Cad2Stl also has the ability to correct reversed normal vectors in the file.
This new utility is available for free to all FLOW-3D customers in support and can be downloaded from the Utilties page on the Users Site. Cad2Stl was developed by Flow Science’s Japan subsidiary, Flow Science Japan, for FLOW-3D users.
New Features in v1.2.1
- Added support to convert Autodesk Alias (OBJ) files.
- Added support to convert Autodesk 3DStudio (3DS) files, and a log display that shows the conversion log.
- Sample files for the above formats are also available for download.
