2013 FLOW-3D User Conferences in Asia
Mr. Syunsuke Kanagami of Autoliv Japan presents his work
with FLOW-3D modeling die casting of steering wheels.
Dr. SD An of K-Water presents his talk on "Numerical Modeling
of Turbid Density Currents in Imha Reservoir."
The 2013 FLOW-3D Users Conference in Japan was held on October 25th at the Tokyo Conference Center Shinagawa, with over 90 users in attendance. The featured presentation was a keynote speech by Dr. Shigeru Akaike, of Denso Corporation, on the topic of the The Internal Effort to Promote CAE Tools within DENSO. User presentations included talks from Takenaka Corporation (tsunami simulations), Kobe Steel (highly viscous flows); Autoliv (die casting); Nihon University (extrusion method for fuel cell separators); and Mie University (plunger tip shape optimization). Dr. Michael Barkhudarov, Flow Science's Vice President of Research & Development, gave a talk on new developments in coming releases of FLOW-3D, FLOW-3D/MP and FLOW-3D Cast. Doug Jones, Senior Software Engineer, presented the user interface side of what is coming in the same new releases.
The 2013 FLOW-3D Users Conference in Korea was held on October 23rd at the Doksan Novotel Ambassador Hotel, with over 50 users in attendance. Presentations were made by Hyundai Motors (die casting and heat transfer analysis for new alloys), K-Water (turbidity currents in large reservoirs), Chonnam N. University (stability analysis for aquaculture), and Sejong University (wave analysis). Again, Dr. Barkhudarov and Mr. Jones presented talks on new developments for FLOW-3D.
