Danforth (Dan) Weems
Danforth (Dan) Weems, hired on June 18th, is the newest Senior Software Engineer on the GUI development team. Dan has an extensive background in software development which has allowed him to apply his talents to a variety of scientific applications, such as meteorology, bioinformatics and financial sciences. His most recent position was Senior Software Engineer at Interthinx (formerly Strategic Analytics) in Santa Fe.
As a Senior Software Engineer and member of the GUI development team, Dan will be involved in all aspects of the development of FLOW-3D's graphical user interface including software design, implementation of new features, and maintenance issues. He reports to John Ditter, VP of Software Engineering. Welcome, Dan!
Saravanan Poosanthiram was recently promoted to Senior Software Engineer. Saravanan started with Flow Science in July 2010 as a Software Engineer. His dedication and considerable contribution to the FLOW-3D user interface over the past 2 years have been invaluable and he will continue his work in this area. Saravanan reports to John Ditter, VP of Software Engineering. Congratulations Saravanan!
Joyce Lathrop, Flow Science’s Accounting Manager since 2010, has recently been promoted to the officer position of Treasurer. Joyce is responsible for all finance and accounting functions for Flow Science. She reports to Tom Jensen, President. Congratulations Joyce!
Ken’ichi Kanazawa, a PhD student at Mie University’s Graduate School of Engineering in Japan, who used FLOW-3D in his masters’ work at Mie, has joined Flow Science for a summer internship. He is working under the guidance of David Souders, VP of Sales, Marketing and Customer Support, on several projects that will benefit FSI from a support and sales and marketing standpoint, and which will benefit Ken’ichi in his doctoral work. Welcome, Ken’ichi!
John Ditter, VP of Software Engineering, had his 20th anniversary with Flow Science on June 24th. John’s career with Flow Science has taken him from Senior Engineer to a promotion to Vice President in 2001 and an extensive tenure managing the Customer Support team. In November 2011, John took over management of the GUI development team.
George Wei (on the right!)
Gengsheng (George) Wei, Senior Developer, had his 10th anniversary with Flow Science on July 1st. George began his career at Flow Science as Developer and was promoted to Senior Developer in 2009.

Shayan Palit has left Flow Science and his position of Sales Engineer to return to school full time. He was accepted into the University of Chicago’s MBA program and will begin his studies this fall. We wish Shayan the best of luck!
Brian Stinar has left Flow Science and his position as Software Engineer to start his own custom software development company. We wish him success in his new venture!
