FLOW-3D Cast v3.5 Released

The new iron shrinkage model in FLOW-3D Castv3.5.
A FLOW-3D Cast simulation using the new Iron Shrinkage
model. Casting colored by surface defect concentration.

Last month, Flow Science released a new version of FLOW-3D Cast, its simulation software developed especially for foundrymen, tool makers, and casting designers. Version 3.5 of FLOW-3D Cast features new capabilities to model iron solidification and shrinkage, cavitation potential, permeable mold model for air escape during filling, prediction of core gas generation, modeling capability for sand core blowing and for core and mold drying. A new permeable mold model is available to model air escape during filling. In addition, users can make use of temperature-dependent material properties to more-accurately predict solidification-related defects. Quantifying Stresses Applied to Proteins in Common Agitation Methods using FLOW-3D

Thursday, May 31, 2012 @ 2:00 PM - 3:00 PM EDT

Simulation vs. experimental results of an orbital shaker

This webinar will explore the benefits of using FLOW-3D as an auxiliary R&D tool for simulating processes within the pharmaceutical, biomedical and drug delivery industries. The presentation will focus on a recent study that used FLOW-3D to model the various types of stresses that are developed in the fluid when using common agitation methods. The study takes on greater significance since the characterization of the agitation stress methods is critical to identifying protein degradation mechanisms or specific sensitivities.

XC Engineering Celebrates Its 10th Anniversary!!!!

XC Engineering celebrates its 10 year anniversary

In March, XC Engineering celebrated its 10 year anniversary of selling and supporting FLOW-3D. To commemorate the occasion, XC sent champagne to customers, fellow FLOW-3D associates and Flow Science, some of whom were able to join in toasting the occasion via Skype video call. Congratulations, XC!
