FLOW-3D Cast
Flow Science has expanded its product line to include FLOW-3D Cast, designed specifically for creating, running and post-processing casting simulations. FLOW-3D Cast generates highly-accurate flow and solidification simulation results and highlights dynamic meshing for easy model setup; material libraries for metals, molds, filters and risers; and extensive postprocessing capabilities. All of these features are accessible from a user interface designed by casting engineers for casting engineers.

The Meter's Running...Backwards
Last newsletter we announced that Flow Science had installed solar panels on the roof. Sunny New Mexico days have made Flow Science’s solar panels work hard and its electric meter run backwards. Since December 2010, the 37.6 kilowatt grid-tied photovoltaic solar system has produced 17.5 MWh of electricity, enough to power 53,030 light bulbs or 17,500 PCs for a day. The carbon offset is 15.0 tons, equivalent to the CO2 absorbed by 353 trees through photosynthesis or the CO2 emitted by burning 1,545 gallons of gasoline in an engine.

Flow Science Sponsors MOTH Series at St John's College
For the 6th year in a row, Flow Science will be a sponsor of the annual Music on the Hill series at St. John's College in Santa Fe, NM. Starting June 8, picnickers and music will gather on Wednesday evenings from 6-8 p.m. on the soccer field at St. John’s College. For performance dates and a list of musicians, visit the Music on the Hill website.
NADCA Corporate Membership
In January 2011, Flow Science became a corporate member of NADCA, the North America Die Casting Assocation.
Flow Science Partners with JAHM Software
JAHM Software's material properties database software is designed to provide easy access to over 2,600 materials and 21,000 sets of temperature-dependent data for elastic modulus, thermal expansion, thermal conductivity, S-N fatigue curves, stress-strain curves, and more. The database is designed to increase productivity by making materials data only a mouse-click away. JAHM has been customized to work seamlessly with FLOW-3D version 10 and above and will be sold as a separate module from FLOW-3D.
