Education: B.S. in Engineering Thermophysics from University of Science and Technology of China; M.S. Degree in Mechanical Engineering, University of Michigan - Dearborn

Why did you choose CFD as a career path?

It would probably be the best way to combine my interest in software engineering and my major in fluid dynamics.

What do you like so far about working at Flow Science?
The teamwork environment.

What do you like about Santa Fe?
The yearlong sunny weather and different tour sites around the city.

Shayan Palit

Title: Sales and Marketing Engineer

Date of Joining: March 3, 2008

Education: Btech. Mechanical Engineering – IIT Madras, 2005; MS Mechanical Engineering – Georgia Tech, 2007

Shayan Palit
Shayan shows his computational side.

Why did you choose CFD as a career path?

I was always interested in fluids and heat transfer since my undergraduate days. Over time I realized that the computational side was more appealing than the experimental side, hence the decision. I find the computational side more appealing because it gives results faster, and  many times it is easier to tweak the parameters a little and learn a lot about the problem from the simulation results. Also I love programming.

What do you like so far about working at Flow Science?

I think the best thing about working at Flow Science is the people. Everyone here is very friendly and helpful. Also, it is a great atmosphere and you feel like you are part of one big family.

You were last living in Atlanta, Georgia, which is quite a change from Santa Fe, NM. What do you like or dislike about Santa Fe?

I think Santa Fe is very beautiful. I was skeptical before coming here, but have fallen in love with this place after coming here.
