How long have you worked at Flow Science?
Who has had the greatest influence on you and why?
My father through his life-time dedication to science.
What do you do in your spare time (when you’re not at Flow Science)?
My fiancé, Traci Davis, and I enjoy the music scene in NM. We also spend a great deal of time socializing with our four pets: three cats and a dog.
Andrei agrees to a photo op.
What accomplishment(s) are you most proud of?
At Flow Science, a shell deactivation procedure developed with Michael Barkhudarov. The model has a potential to give significant run-time improvements for casting users of FLOW-3D.
Why did you choose to come to work for Flow Science (aka FSI)?
People at Flow Science have dedicated more than two decades to predicting numerically casting flows and porosity. I feel that it is a good place to use my prior experience in casting simulation to build on FSI’s know-how.
What was it about Flow Science that attracted you?
An established research group in casting simulation and a large customer base which guides the code development and helps identify interesting problems.
What are you reading right now and why?
Capitalism and Freedom by Milton Friedman and Free Energy Transduction (and biological cycle kinetics) by Terrell Hill. A good mix of science and social science ...
