How long have you worked for Flow Science? I’m almost at the one and a half year mark.
What is the best part of your job, or why do you like working at Flow Science? Every once in awhile, the fact that I studied ancient Greek in college comes in handy, and it’s not just to solve a crossword clue. I like that my archaic education is appreciated among the incredibly smart (and nice) people whom I work with. And I like that I’m constantly learning new things, whether it’s a software tool, or how to understand an aspect of CFD in layman’s terms.
What are you working on right now? As I’m writing this, I’m about to attend an intensive Photoshop class. Did I mention I’m working on the newsletter? And that it’s very hard to interview myself… I tried pretty hard to get out of it.
Who has had the greatest influence on you and why? I make it a point not to be too influenced. Not all influence is good; I’ve learned that the hard way. With that said, the best influences in my life have been my grandmothers. They both approached their lives with style, intelligence and humor no matter what happened to them, and loved me unconditionally. I could never repay that.
What do you do in your spare time (when you’re not at Flow Science?) Sometimes I do absolutely nothing. I walk my dog, I play tennis when the weather is good. I’m going to Panama in a couple of weeks for a friend’s wedding. I’m looking forward to the tropical weather and having a tan in February for the first time in my life.
