Amol Palekar started in mid-May as a support engineer. Amol obtained his Masters Degree in Mechanical Engineering at the University of New Mexico and B.Tech. in Mechanical Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology in Bombay in 2003.

Boris Lukezic joined the company in June as Director of Engineering Services (see full story in this issue of the News), bringing over thirteen years of experience in the die casting industry to the task. A 1988 graduate of the University of Waterloo (B.A.Sc. in Mechanical Engineering), Boris received his MBA from McMaster University in 1996. He is a member of the Executive Committee of NADCA Chapter 10 and the NADCA Task Force on Process Modeling.

In early July, we added another engineer, Andrei Starobin, to help with support, training and software documentation on a part-time basis. Andrei earned his B.S. in Engineering from Duke University in 1997, followed by an M.A. (Electrical Engineering) in 2000 from Princeton University and M.S.E. in 2003, also from Princeton University.

Sadly, we will soon be saying goodbye to Irfan Khan, who is going to pursue doctoral studies in Mechanical Engineering at the Georgia Institute of Technology in Atlanta, Georgia. Irfan has been a very valuable member of our group for over two and a half years, mainly working on customer support and training, but also contributing with developments (e.g., flux planes) and assisting greatly in the rollout of our version of FLOW-3D for clusters, FLOW-3D/MP.
