Long-Time User Weds
Dr. Jun Zeng, a long-time FLOW-3D user, author of several interesting papers on microfluidics modeling, and developer for Coventor, Inc., was married in Boston, MA, to Wei, a pianist who graduated from the prestigious New England Conservatory. Jun and Wei make their home in the Boston area.
Flow Science Announces New Consulting Association
Flow Science has recently entered into an agreement with Blue Hill Hydraulics and CFD Solutions Ltd for those two companies to collaborate with Flow Science to provide consulting services and marketing & sales support to interested persons in the U.S. and the U.K. in the areas of water & environmental engineering and microfluidics. In addition, Flow Science will participate with Blue Hill Hydraulics in research projects awarded to it under the U.S. government’s SBIR program.
Blue Hill Hydraulics is a privately-held company located in Henniker, NH recently established by long-time FLOW-3D user Dr. John Richardson. CFD Solutions, is a privately-held company located in Exeter, UK which has been providing consulting services with FLOW-3D since mid-2001 and is headed up by Mr. Ken Doyle. Dr. Richardson and Mr. Doyle have cooperated on and developed a wide range of applications of FLOW-3D in many water and environmental engineering studies and have formed the Blue Hill Hydraulics & CFD Solutions venture to further this association and promote FLOW-3D alongside the Flow Science team.
2004 FLOW-3D World Users Conference
A reminder: Flow Science is planning its 2004 FLOW-3D Users Conference for September 20-21 in Chicago, Illinois. The meeting will be held at the Summit Executive Centre in the heart of downtown Chicago. Flow Science staff will be on hand to discuss the newest developments to be included the latest FLOW-3D release, due out this summer. Also planned is a half-day of training on the new release and the new features and models.
In addition, there will be user presentations showing FLOW-3D work results. And the opportunity for appointments with Flow Science staff to discuss modeling issues and other questions will be given.
July 1, 2004 is the deadline for early registration at a charge of only $125.00 US. After July 1st, the registration fee will be $175.00 US. Don't miss out on this conference! Click here to download a registration form.
Call for Papers
Flow Science invites you to show your (FLOW-3D) stuff! You are invited to make a presentation at the 2004 FLOW-3D Users Conference this September 20-21. Benchmarks, case studies, research projects, applications to process design and optimization--all are welcome! All presentations will be included in a CD to be distributed to all conference attendees and later made available, via our website, to the general public.
If you are interested, please contact Rena Coby-Madrid as soon as possible. Abstracts are due by June 1, 2004. Final presentations will be due by September 10, 2004.
