Flow Science has started shipping its latest version of FLOW-3D,
Version 8.2. Our policy of making FLOW-3D more
powerful, reliable, and easy to use through a process of incremental changes
is no more evident than in the current release.
Webster defines increment as "the action or process of increasing, esp.
in value." This issue of the News, documents the increased value of FLOW-3D in
terms of the most important increments (i.e., extensions, gains, additions, enlargements,
etc.) that have been added to the new code version.
You can read about a fundamental change in our user interface
that allows for the interactive creation of geometry and meshes, or check out
the new physical models for elastic-plastic flows and electro-osmosis. Improvements
have also been made in the coupling of multiple grid blocks and in the tracking
of sharp interfaces. We new refer to our interface method as TruVOF, because
our new implementation is the truest form of the VOF method.
Best wishes,
The Staff at Flow Science Inc.
