Free 90-day IOSO Trial Licenses for Flow Science Customers in North America

Flow Science has entered into a collaboration with Sigma Technology, developer of the high-efficiency, multi-dimensional nonlinear optimization software known as IOSO. Sigma recently released IOSO 2.04, which has direct integration to FLOW-3D. Using IOSO in conjunction with FLOW-3D, engineers can improve the performance of complex large-scale systems and technological processes based on what-if scenarios for arriving at optimal parameters. Through Flow Science, Sigma will offer FLOW-3D customers in North America a free 90-day trial license for IOSO PM, which allows for parallel optimization on multiple nodes. Flow Science Announces Consultancy Agreement with Bholster Technologies

Flow Science, Inc. announced it has entered into a cooperative agreement with Bholster Technologies Ltd. to provide computational fluid dynamics (CFD) consultancy services in the high pressure die casting industry. Flow Science Announces the Formation of Flow Science Deutschland

Flow Science, Inc. announced the formation of Flow Science Deutschland GmbH to be a further extension of its distribution channel. The new company is being formed in partnership with key personnel from its former distributor, CFD Consultants GmbH. Flow Science Deutschland will represent FLOW-3D products in Germany, Austria and Switzerland, providing sales and support of the software as well as generalized CFD consulting services.

FLOW-3D/MP v4.2 Released!

FLOW-3D/MP v4.2 offers users substantial performance improvements with possible scaling up to 256 cores and runtime improvements of as much as 60x over FLOW-3D v9.4. FLOW-3D users typically tackle transient free-surface problems, which are a difficult challenge for distributed-memory computing. With FLOW-3D/MP v4.2, problems which previously took a week to complete can now be solved in hours.

Flow Science Releases FLOW-3D Cast v3.5

Version 3.5 of FLOW-3D Cast features new capabilities to model iron solidification and shrinkage, cavitation potential, prediction of core gas generation, and sand core blowing and core and mold drying. A new permeable mold model is available to model air escape during filling. In addition, users can make use of temperature-dependent material properties to more-accurately predict solidification-related defects. An updated graphical user interface, increased speed and an integrated CAD translation tool are also part of the new release. Read the press release >

MassFLOW-3D™ simulates sediment gravity flows as mechanisms for the formation of hydrocarbon reservoirs in deep marine environments. This new product is aimed at petroleum industry geologists and geophysicists interested in improving their ability to locate hydrocarbon reservoirs in deep water deposits. The local company, Flow Science Japan, Inc., has taken offices located in the NJ Tawaramachi Building at 1-3-15 Nishi Asakusa Daito-ku in Tokyo. Happy Earth Day! Flow Science's Solar Panels are Working Hard

Happy Earth Day! Sunny New Mexico days are making Flow Science’s solar panels work hard and its electric meter run backwards. The 37.6 kilowatt grid-tied photovoltaic solar system installed in December 2010 has produced 17.5 MWh of electricity, enough to power 53,030 light bulbs or 17,500 PCs for a day. The carbon offset is 15.0 tons, equivalent to the CO2  absorbed by 353 trees through photosynthesis or the CO2 emitted by burning 1,545 gallons of gasoline in an engine.
