Join us in Chicago for the 2013 FLOW-3D World Users Conference!
The 2013 FLOW-3D World Users Conference will be held at the Allerton Hotel in Chicago on September 19-20, 2013 preceded by a 1/2 day of free training and poster session at the opening reception on September 18. We invite you to join Flow Science staff and FLOW-3D users from around the world for insightful presentations, engaging conversations and a chance to pose your questions directly to Flow Science's developers and support staff. The conference offers an excellent opportunity to interact with other experienced users of FLOW-3D, discover new modeling approaches, learn about the latest software developments, and hone your simulation skills.
The conference will begin with an Opening Reception and Poster Session, Wednesday, September 18. The reception is hosted by Flow Science.
Flow Science is pleased to announce that the speakers and poster authors have been selected for its 2013 FLOW-3D World Users Conference. FLOW-3D users from around the world will be presenting their simulation results from a variety of application areas. Represented companies include Hydro-Quebec, MWH Global, LANL, Baird and Associates, Littler Diecast Corporation, and the HPC Advisory Council. In addition to user talks and the poster session, the latest developments for both the FLOW-3D solver and graphical users interface will be presented by Michael Barkhudarov, VP of R&D and Amir Isfahani, Director of Business Development at Flow Science.
Flow Science will offer a 1/2 day of free training on FlowSight™, FLOW-3D’s future visualization tool, Wednesday, September 18, 2013 from 1:00 pm - 5:00 pm at the conference hotel directly preceding the conference. Attendees can sign up for the training session when they register online.
A beta version of FlowSight™ will be made available in advance to conference attendees who sign up for the training. Attendees will be encouraged to download and install this beta on their laptops, to bring to the training. Flow Science will provide results files for use in the training exercises.
On Wednesday, September 18, the conference will begin with an opening reception and poster session. The event will begin at 6:00 pm and appetizers and drinks will be served. All conference attendees and their guests are invited.
On Thursday, September 19, all conference attendees and their guests are invited to the conference dinner. This year's dinner will be held at the Weber Grill, a short walk from the conference hotel. Directions will be provided in the conference material. The dinner will start at 7:00 pm. If you did not RSVP for the dinner on your registration form, please contact us.

Information for Presenters and Poster Authors
FLOW-3D users who submitted an abstract will be notified if their presentation has been accepted on Friday, August 2. If your abstract is accepted, we will contact you with the proposed time of your talk. Each presenter will be allotted a 30-minute time slot, which allows for a 20 minute presentation and 10 minutes for Q & A. Presentation formats can be either a PowerPoint file or a file format that can be opened in PowerPoint. Presentations are due Friday, September 6. If you have any questions about your presentation or would like to request an upload link, please contact Flow Science.

FLOW-3D users who submitted a poster idea will be notified if their idea has been accepted on Friday, August 2, 2013. The poster session will be held concurrently with the opening reception on Wednesday, September 18. Once the conference is over, the posters will then travel around the world to be displayed at the FLOW-3D user conferences in Asia. Poster participants will need to bring their final printed posters to the opening reception/poster session on Wednesday, September 18 before 5:30 pm. If Flow Science is printing your poster, it is due no later than Friday, August 30. Please contact Flow Science for a template for your poster or with any questions you might have.
Making a Poster
Do you want to make a poster, but don't know where to start? Here's a poster website where you can download free templates and tutorials about how to create a poster. Posters should be no larger than 4 feet wide by 3 feet high. Flow Science will provide adhesives to apply your poster to the posterboards at the conference.
