The 2013 FLOW-3D World Users Conference will be held at the Allerton Hotel in Chicago on September 19-20, 2013 preceded by a 1/2 day of free training and poster session at the opening reception on September 18. We invite you to join Flow Science staff and FLOW-3D users from around the world for insightful presentations, engaging conversations and a chance to pose your questions directly to Flow Science's developers and support staff. The conference offers an excellent opportunity to interact with other experienced users of FLOW-3D, discover new modeling approaches, learn about the latest software developments, and hone your simulation skills.
The conference will begin with an Opening Reception and Poster Session, Wednesday, September 18. The reception is hosted by Flow Science.

Call for Abstracts!
The call for abstracts for oral presentations and posters is now open. Share your experiences, present your success stories and obtain valuable feedback from your fellow FLOW-3D users and Flow Science staff. The deadline to submit an abstract is Friday, July 26, 2013. Notifications of presentation acceptance will be sent out on Friday, August 2, 2013. If you are interested in presenting or creating a poster, please email your abstract to us.

Free Training
Flow Science will offer a free FLOW-3D training focused on the integration of EnSight into FLOW-3D. Attendees can sign up for the training session when they register online.
Online Registration
Online registration for the conference is now available. Conference registration will be waived for one presenter per presentation or poster author. The registration fee includes the two-day conference, opening reception and conference dinner as well as morning and afternoon coffee breaks.
Early-bird registration ends Friday, July 5, 2013.

Social Events & Poster Session
Opening Reception & Poster Session
On Wednesday, September 18, the conference will begin with an opening reception and poster session. The event will begin at 6:00 pm and appetizers and drinks will be served. All conference attendees and their guests are invited.
Conference Dinner
On Thursday, September 19, all conference attendees and their guests are invited to the conference dinner. The dinner will start at 7:00 pm. If you did not RSVP for the dinner on your registration form, please contact us. More details to follow soon.

Invitation Letters
Do you need to apply for a visa in order to visit the United States to attend the conference? Please email us to request an invitation letter to attend the conference. If registering online, simply check the 'Invitation Letter' box on the form.
Call for Presentations & Posters
Abstract Submission
Abstracts should be 250 words or less and include the title of the presentation or poster, author(s) name(s), job title, and company/institution name. Presentations should focus on benchmarks, validations, practical examples, and case studies using FLOW-3D. If there are multiple authors, please list the presenter first. MS Word format is preferred. The deadline to submit an abstract has been extended to Friday, July 27, 2012. Notifications of presentation acceptance will be sent out on Friday, August 2, 2012. The conference fee for one presenter per presentation will be waived. To submit your abstract for either a presentation or a poster, please email it to Flow Science.
Information for Presenters and Poster Authors
Presentations
FLOW-3D users who submitted an abstract will be notified if their presentation has been accepted on Friday, August 3. If your abstract is accepted, we will contact you with the proposed time of your talk. Each presenter will be allotted a 30-minute time slot, which allows for a 20 minute presentation and 10 minutes for Q & A. Presentation formats can be either a PowerPoint file or a file format that can be opened in PowerPoint. Presentations are due Tuesday, September 6. If you have any questions about your presentation or would like to request an upload link, please contact Flow Science.

Posters
FLOW-3D users who submitted a poster idea will be notified if their idea has been accepted on Friday, August 2, 2013. The poster session will be held concurrently with the opening reception on Wednesday, September 18. Once the conference is over, the posters will then travel around the world to be displayed at the FLOW-3D user conferences in Asia. Poster participants will need to bring their final printed posters to the opening reception/poster session on Wednesday, September 18 before 5:30 pm. If Flow Science is printing your poster, it is due no later than Friday, August 30. Please contact Flow Science for a template for your poster or with any questions you might have.
Making a Poster
Do you want to make a poster, but don't know where to start? Here's a poster website where you can download free templates and tutorials about how to create a poster. Posters should be no larger than 4 feet wide by 3 feet high. Flow Science will provide adhesives to apply your poster to the posterboards at the conference. If you would like to use the Flow Science poster template, please contact us.
