Inkjet Design

Thermal bubble jet

Despite the continuing move towards a “paperless” world, the market still hungers for simple, low-cost inkjet printers with more and more demand for high quality. The rapid proliferation in the use of digital cameras means more consumers also require high-quality color photo printing capability in their homes. This drives printer manufacturers to design better ways to satisfy the consumer demand through exotic design alternatives.

Inkjet manufacturers around the world use FLOW-3D to improve the performance of their printers. Design engineers can study droplet generation (volume, shape, velocity, satellite creation), and the effect of nozzle geometry, temperature, bubble energy and surface tension on these variables.

CFD-101 – Free Gridding Saves Time

Computational fluid dynamics algorithms use a grid of small volume elements in which the average values of flow quantities are stored. In many programs the construction of a suitable grid is a formidable task requiring a considerable investment in time and effort.

In free gridding the operations of geometry building and grid generation are independent of one another. Changes in either the grid or geometry can be made freely without requiring changes in the other. Read more >
