Foundry Processes: Modeling Filters
Many casting companies use filters to remove solid inclusions in the melt, or to slow the flow of the pour. The FLOW-3D Cast porous media model includes linear and quadratic flow losses, fluid/filter heat transfer, directional porosity, and capillary effects.
