Speakers Announced for the 12th FLOW-3D European Users Conference

SANTA FE, NEW MEXICO, May 14, 2012. Flow Science, Inc. announces the speakers for its 12th annual FLOW-3D European Users Conference, to be held on June 25-26 at the NH Muenchen Deutscher Kaiser in Munich, Germany. This year's conference offers two full days of user presentations that showcase FLOW-3D results in traditional applications like hydroelectric projects and metal casting, as well as demonstrate the broad applications of the software, with topics such as wave energy conversion, salt core technology, forward roll coating, and ancient water wheels. Flow Science Announces Software Development Agreement

SANTA FE, NEW MEXICO, April 19, 2012. Flow Science, Inc. announces the conclusion of an agreement with Complex Flow Design AS of Trondheim, Norway, concerning the development and distribution of a new product, MassFLOW-3D™, for the simulation of sediment gravity flows as mechanisms for the formation of hydrocarbon reservoirs in deep marine environments. This new product is aimed at petroleum industry geologists and geophysicists interested in improving their ability to locate hydrocarbon reservoirs in deep water deposits. Read more >

Flow Science Announces Its 2012 FLOW-3D World Users Conference

March 20, 2012 — Flow Science announced today that its 2012 FLOW-3D World Users Conference will be held September 13-14, 2012 at the Hyatt at Fisherman's Wharf in San Francisco, CA. The conference is open to FLOW-3D, FLOW-3D Cast, FLOW-3D ThermoSET and FLOW-3D/MP users and anyone interested in learning more about the software. The meeting will feature user presentations from a variety of industrial and research applications as well as talks on the latest developments for FLOW-3D presented by Michael Barkhudarov, VP of R&D and John Ditter, VP of Software Engineering at Flow Science. Flow Science Releases New Version of Casting Simulation Software

March 1, 2012 — Flow Science announced today that it has released a new version of FLOW-3D Cast, its simulation software developed especially for foundrymen, tool makers, and casting designers. Version 3.5 of FLOW-3D Cast features new capabilities to model iron solidification and shrinkage, cavitation potential, prediction of core gas generation, and sand core blowing and core and mold drying. A new permeable mold model is available to model air escape during filling. In addition, users can make use of temperature-dependent material properties to more-accurately predict solidification-related defects. An updated graphical user interface, increased speed and an integrated CAD translation tool are also part of the new release. Read more >

CEI to be the Exclusive Visualization Sponsor at the FLOW-3D World and European User Conferences

February 9, 2012 — Building on the momentum of the recently-announced collaboration between CEI (Apex, NC) and Flow Science to integrate EnSight into FLOW-3D, Flow Science announced today that CEI will be the exclusive visualization sponsor of its FLOW-3D European Users Conference and FLOW-3D World Users Conference. At both conferences, CEI will offer free EnSight training sessions concurrently with advanced FLOW-3D training to be offered. FLOW-3D CFD Software to Feature Built-in EnSight 10 for Advanced Post-Processing, 3D Visualization

Apex, N.C. and Santa Fe, N.M. (January 24, 2012) — CEI, Inc. and Flow Science, Inc., both leading providers of computational fluid dynamics solutions, announced today that the two have partnered to embed the latest version of CEI’s EnSight CFD 3D visualization software directly into Flow Science’s FLOW-3D CFD modeling and analysis suite, integrating advanced post-processing and volume rendering animation directly into the FLOW-3D graphical user interface. FLOW-3D users can expect a beta launch this fall of the new integrated solution that incorporates the recently-released EnSight 10, with the final production version coming next year. Read more >

Flow Science collaborates with Sigma Technology to offer free IOSO trial licenses

January 19, 2012. Flow Science has entered into a collaboration with Sigma Technology (Moscow, Russia), developer of the high-efficiency, multi-dimensional nonlinear optimization software known as IOSO. Sigma recently released IOSO 2.04, which has direct integration to FLOW-3D. Using IOSO in conjunction with FLOW-3D, engineers can improve the performance of complex large-scale systems and technological processes based on what-if scenarios for arriving at optimal parameters. Under the cooperation agreement, through Flow Science, Sigma will offer FLOW-3D customers in North America a free 90-day trial license for IOSO PM, which allows for parallel optimization on multiple nodes.
